Single-Molecule Spectroscopy Selectively Probes Donor and Acceptor Chromophores in the Phycobiliprotein Allophycocyanin
Biophysical Journal; 10/1/2004; Loos, Davey; Cotlet, Mircea; De Schryver, Frans; Habuchi, Satoshi; Hofkens, Johan; 787 words
; ABSTRACT We report on single-molecule fluorescence measurements performed on the phycobiliprotein allophycocyanin (APC). Our data support the presence of a unidirectional Frster-type energy transfer process involving spectrally different chromophores, α84 (donor) and β84 (acceptor), as

On the absorption spectrum of noble gases at the arc spectrum limit.
Journal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology; 11/1/2005; Fano, Ugo Pupillo, Guido Zannoni, Alberto Clark, Charles W.; 787 words
; Rydberg spectral lines of an atom are sometimes superimposed on the continuous spectrum of a different configuration. Effects of interaction among different configurations in one of these cases are theoretically investigated, and a formula is obtained that describes the behavior of absorption
