T dwarf
T dwarf A spectral classification applied to
brown dwarfs at the very bottom end of the
main sequence, cooler and fainter even than the
L dwarfs. They have temperatures from about 1300 to 800 K or even cooler, and their spectra show strong infrared absorption bands due to methane and water. Being so cool, they are detectable only at infrared wavelengths.
