N galaxy

N galaxy A type of galaxy with a bright, star-like nucleus that has a strong emission-line spectrum, surrounded by a faint nebulous envelope. They have active galactic nuclei, and may represent lower-luminosity versions of quasars. The designation N galaxy comes from the Morgan classification.
