Iota Aquarid meteors A comparatively weak meteor shower, with ill-defined activity limits during July and August. The most prominent maximum falls on August6, when the ZHR may reach 10. Iota Aquarids tend to be faint and fairly swift. The meteor stream, like many others that lie close to the ecliptic, is split into at least two components. At maximum, the Southern Iota Aquarids have a radiant at RA 22h 10m, dec. −15°, while the Northern Iota Aquarids emanate from RA 22h 04m, dec. −06°. Some authorities regard them not as a separate shower but as part of the general activity from the anthelion radiant.
