A Dictionary of Astronomy | 1997 | © A Dictionary of Astronomy 1997, originally published by Oxford University Press 1997. (Hide copyright information) Copyright

Index Catalogue (IC) Either of two supplements to the New General Catalogue (NGC), compiled by J. L. E.Dreyer. The first Index Catalogue, containing 1529 newly discovered non-stellar objects, was published in 1895, and the second (IC II), with 3857 objects, in 1908; both contained corrections to the NGC.
