Hathor Asteroid 2340, a member of the
Aten group, discovered in 1976 by the American astronomer Charles Thomas Kowal (1940– ). Its diameter is about 200 m. Hathor can approach to within 0.006 AU (900 000 km) of the Earth's orbit. Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 0.844 AU, period 0.78 years, perihelion 0.46 AU, aphelion 1.22 AU, and inclination 5°.9.
