E-terms A component of annual aberration that depends on the eccentricity of the Earth's orbit; also known as elliptic aberration. It amounts to only 0”.34 at maximum. Until 1984 the catalogue positions of stars were not corrected for the E-terms, but since then the E-terms have been taken into account when defining a star's mean place.
