Eta Aquarid meteors

Eta Aquarid meteors A prominent meteor shower, particularly for observers in the southern hemisphere, produced by debris from Halley's Comet. Activity is seen between April24 and May20, with a broad maximum centred on May5, when the radiant lies at RA 22 h 20 m, dec. -01°. Peak ZHR values may approach 50. Eta Aquarid meteors are very swift (geocentric velocity 67 km/s), and a high proportion leave persistent trains. Bright Eta Aquarids are quite common, and often appear yellow.
