Cambridge Optical Aperture Synthesis Telescope

Cambridge Optical Aperture Synthesis Telescope (COAST) An optical interferometer at Cambridge, England, that uses the technique of aperture synthesis, originally developed by radio astronomers, to produce high-resolution images by combining the light from five 0.4-m mirrors with baselines up to 100 m.
