BepiColombo

BepiColombo An ESA–Japanese mission to the planet Mercury, planned for launch in 2013. It will consist of two orbiters, one to study Mercury's surface and the other to study its magnetosphere and space environment; the magnetosphere orbiter will be provided by Japan. The mission is named after the Italian mathematician and engineer Giuseppe (‘Bepi’) Colombo (1920–84) who first explained Mercury's unique rotation. http://bepicolombo.esa.int/
