Figitidae

Figitidae (suborder Apocrita, superfamily Cynipoidea) Family of wasps, generally small (3–6 mm long) and shiny black, whose larvae are pupal parasites of Diptera, scale insects, and aphids. One subfamily parasitizes only Hemerobiidae (lacewings). The family is not common.
