Terry, Marion (1852–1930), English actress, younger sister of Ellen (above). She made her first appearance on the stage in 1873, and three years later scored a success as Dorothy in Gilbert's Dan'l Druce, Blacksmith. In 1879 she was engaged by the Bancrofts for the Prince of Wales (see SCALA) where she made her first appearance as Mabel in a new play by James Albery entitled Duty. An able and attractive actress, she was later with Alexander at the St James's, where she created the part of Mrs Erlynne in Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan (1892); with Forbes-Robertson at the Lyceum, where she played Andrie Lesden in Henry Arthur Jones's Michael and His Lost Angel (1896); and at the Vaudeville, where she appeared as Susan Throssel in the first production of Barrie's Quality Street (1902). She continued to play elegant aristocratic parts until increasing arthritis forced her to retire, her last part being the Principessa della Cercola in Maugham's Our Betters (1923).
