Northcott Theatre

Northcott Theatre, Exeter, Devon, named after its chief benefactor, a Devon business man. It was erected in 1967 on a site donated, together with a large sum of money, by the University of Exeter, within whose precincts it stands. It has a proscenium stage and the auditorium, fan-shaped and steeply raked, seats 433. In-house productions run for approximately four weeks and are a mixture of classic, contemporary, and commissioned plays and musicals. Since 1986 the theatre's rehearsal hall has been developed as the Northcott Studio Theatre and offers seasons of plays when the main theatre is used by amateurs and visiting companies.
