Moskvin, Ivan Mikhailovich

Moskvin, Ivan Mikhailovich (1874–1946), Russian actor, who joined the Moscow Art Theatre on its foundation in 1898, playing the lead in its initial production of A. K. Tolstoy's Tsar Feodor Ivanovich and Epihodov and Lvov in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and Ivanov. Among his later roles were Luka in Gorky's The Lower Depths, Nozdrev in Gogol's Dead Souls, and the merchant Pribitkov in Ostrovsky's The Last Sacrifice. In 1942 he played a leading part in Pogodin's play about Lenin, The Kremlin Chimes.
