Gaultier-Garguille

Gaultier-Garguille [ Hugues Guéru] (c.1573–1633), French actor, chief farce-player, with Gros—Guillaume and Turlupin, of the company at the Hôtel de Bourgogne to which he probably graduated from the Paris fairs. He was a tall, thin man with a dry humour much appreciated by Parisians. Under the name of Fleschelles he also played serious parts, particularly kings in tragedy, but he is best remembered as a low comedian. He figures with other members of the company in Gougenot's La Comédie des comédiens, produced at the Hôtel de Bourgogne in 1631.
