Confidenti

Confidenti, company of the commedia dell'arte, first mentioned in 1574, which toured Italy, France, and Spain, and by 1580 was under the control of Giovanni Pellesini. Some of the Gelosi may have joined this company after the death of Isabella Andreini in 1604, but its history remains obscure until it re-emerges in about 1610 with Flaminio Scala (fl. 1600–21) as its leader. It toured mainly in Italy and was disbanded in 1621, some of the actors joining the Fedeli in Paris.
