City Palace of Varieties

City Palace of Varieties, Leeds, one of Britain's two surviving full-time music-halls. (The other is the Players' Theatre.) It developed from modest beginnings in 1865 as a room attached to the White Swan public house. It now seats 713 and was restored to its earlier glory to house the television series ‘The Good Old Days’, which re-created Edwardian music-hall.
