Munrow, David (John) (b Birmingham, 1942; d Chesham Bois, 1976). Eng. player of recorder, crumhorn, etc., and specialist in early music and its instruments. Founder-dir. of Early Music Consort, 1967; lect. in history of early mus., Leicester Univ. from 1967. Prof. of recorder, RAM, from 1969. Frequent broadcaster. Comp. and arr. mus. for films and TV. Author of Instruments of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, 1976.
