Baltsa, Agnes (b Lefkas, 1944). Greek mezzo-soprano. Won first Callas Scholarship. Frankfurt Opera 1968–71, making début as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro). Débuts: Vienna 1970; Deutsche Oper, Berlin, 1970; Salzburg Fest. 1970; Amer. (Houston) 1971; La Scala 1976; CG 1976; NY Met 1979. Outstanding Carmen, Composer, Dorabella, and Dido in Les Troyens.
