dooiney marrey

dooiney marrey, dinney-mara [Manx, sea-man]. The merman of the Isle of Man, who bears a close relationship to the merrow of Irish tradition. He is sometimes portrayed as an affectionate father who romps with his children. More is written of ben-varrey, the Manx mermaid. Classed as a solitary fairy.
