ceffyl dwfr, ceffyl dŵr [W, water horse]. A malevolent horse-like creature inhabiting streams and lakes in Welsh folklore; a counterpart of the Ir. and ScG each uisce/uisge, the Scottish kelpie, and the Manx cabyllushtey and glaistyn; see also the AFANC.
