Ystrad Tywi

Ystrad Tywi. Medieval gwlad or petty kingdom of southern Wales, occupying territory coextensive with the modern counties of West Glamorgan and Dyfed. In the Mabinogi, Pryderi expands his kingdom by seizing land from Ystrad Tywi. During the 8th century, three cantrefs of Ystrad Tywi merged with four from Ceredigion to form the more powerful Seisyllwg.
