Tír na mBeo, Tír na mBéo, Tír inna Beo, Tir-nan-Beo, Tir-nam-béo [OIr. béo, living, quick]. The Land of the Living, a place of everlasting life, one of several distant lands settled by the semi-divine Tuatha Dé Danann after their defeat by the mortal Milesians; in much of Irish oral tradition it is an otherworldly paradise, little distinguishable from Tír na nÓg and Tír Tairngire. Lug Lámfhota brought his sword Frecraid [answerer] from Tír na mBeó. Folk motif: D1338.7. See also YNYS AFALLON.
