Tech Duinn

Tech Duinn, Tech nDuinn [Ir., Donn's house]. An Irish name for the Otherworld, specifically as the realm of the dead; it is the ‘house’ of Donn (1), ruler of the dead. Although Tech Duinn as described in some texts lies beyond mortal geography, it is often identified with a rocky islet near Dursey Island at the extreme western end of the Beare peninsula, Co. Cork. When it is not sited so specifically, Tech Duinn is still linked with Munster.
