Nemain

Nemain, Nemainn, Nemon, Neman, Némain, Neamhain, Nemhain [battle-fury, war-like frenzy]. Shadowy early Irish war-goddess, wife/consort of Néit along with Badb, whose identity she may share. Old Irish texts cite three goddesses of war, usually Badb, Macha, and Mórrígan, known collectively as Mórrígna. When the name Nemain is substituted in the trio for either Badb or Mórrígan, commentators are inclined to see her as an aspect of either of them; alternatively, all three may be aspects of Mórrígan. At the same time, her name carries an echo of the Gaulish and British goddess Nemetona.
