Fingall, Fingal [Ir. finn gall, fair foreigner]. Name once used for the portions of Co. Dublin north of the Liffey; gives the title of earl to the Plunkett family. There is also a Lough Fingal, having no Fenian associations, in south Co. Galway, 4 miles NE of Kinvarra.
