Fernmag

Fernmag [Ir., plain of alders]. Small medieval kingdom in southernmost Ulster, coextensive with the modern region known as Farney, Co. Monaghan. At the time of the Táin Bó Cuailnge [Cattle Raid of Cooley], it was the realm of Durthacht and his aggressive son Eógan mac Durthacht.
