Domnall Míldemail

Domnall Míldemail, Domnall Maeltemel [Ir., warlike, martial]. King of Alba [Scotland] in the Táin Bó Cuailnge [Cattle Raid of Cooley]. Forgall Monach sends Cúchulainn to Domnall Míldemail under the pretence that the hero is to complete his military education; actually, Forgall fears that Cúchulainn may take the virtue of his daughter, Emer. Conchobar and Lóegaire accompany Cúchulainn to Alba, where they learn a series of minor lessons. While the heroes are at their lessons, Domnall Míldemail's loathsome, misshapen daughter Dornoll [Ir., big fist] falls in love with Cúchulainn, much to his chagrin. Angered at his rejection, she vows revenge. Domnall Míldemail then advises the heroes to further their studies with Scáthach.
