Corcu Duibne. People of western Co.
Kerry, especially on both the north and the south shores of
Dingle Bay. In some writings
Corca Dhuibhne denotes the Dingle peninsula specifically. The
Cailleach Bhéirre [Old Woman of Beare] was of the Corcu Duibne, but their (perhaps divine) ancestress may have been Dob [h]inia.
Cú Roí had his fortress in their territory. One of the highest concentrations of stones bearing
ogham inscriptions is found in land once occupied by the Corcu Duibne. Among the Corcu Duibne also was Gleann na nGealt, a valley filled with wild men.
