Cairbre mac Ethne

Cairbre mac Ethne, Cairbre mac Étaíne, Cairbre mac Éadaoine. Son of Ogma and Étan (1), grandson of Dian Cécht, and resident satirist of the Tuatha Dé Danann. In Cath Maige Tuired [The (Second) Battle of Mag Tuired] he is treated rudely by Bres and so composes a satire that causes the king's face to break out in red blotches, a disfigurement that allows a call for the latter's resignation. Later his satires break the morale of the Fomorians in their battle with the Tuatha Dé Danann. He has the power to inflict the glám dícenn upon his enemies.
