Cahirconree, Cahirconry, Caherconree [Ir. cathair, stone fort; chonraoí]. Iron-age stone fort on a 2,050-foot promontory, in the Sliab Mis [Slieve Mish] mountains, Dingle peninsula, Co. Kerry, 8 miles SW of Tralee. The name of the fortress is thought to allude to Cú Roí. According to an oft-told story, Cú Roí was betrayed by his wife Bláithíne to Cúchulainn at Cahirconree.
