Micrococcaceae A family of bacteria in which the cells are Gram-positive and spherical, and occur in regular or irregular groups. They may be motile or non-motile. Resting stages are unknown. They are chemo-organotrophic. They are found in a wide range of habitats such as soil, aquatic environments, or the bodies of animals (including humans), etc.
