Diploglottis (family Sapindaceae) A genus of trees of subtropical regions that includes D. cunninghamii (native tamarind), with edible fruit, of eastern Australia, which grows to 17 m high, has pinnate, fern-like leaves, and small, yellow flowers borne in panicles. The yellow fruit contains a red pulp used for making jam. The genus comprises 3 species, probably endemic (see ENDEMISM) to Australia, but perhaps reaching New Guinea.
