Cupressus

Cupressus (cypress; family Cupressaceae) A genus of trees in which the twigs are not flattened in one plane, the leaves are scale-like and in opposite pairs, and the scales of the cone are in 3–6 pairs with peltate tips. The trees are much cultivated. There are 13 species, occurring in the northern temperate zone.
