Cryptococcaceae

Cryptococcaceae (class Blastomycetes) A family of imperfect fungi which do not form ballistospores. The vegetative stage may be unicellular and yeast-like, or some kind of mycelium may be formed. There are many genera. Species are saprotrophic on fruit, bark, etc. or parasitic on skin and other tissue in humans and other animals.
