Clavariaceae

Clavariaceae (order Aphyllophorales) A family of fungi in which the fruit bodies are erect, unbranched and club-shaped, branched, or coralloid, and often brightly coloured. Spores are produced on the surface of the fruit body. There are many genera, found chiefly on the ground, or on rotting wood. See also CLUB FUNGI and CORAL FUNGI.
