Ceiba

Ceiba (family Bombacaceae) A genus of trees whose seeds are enveloped in silky hairs. C. pentandra (kapok), naturalized in W. Africa and planted widely in Asia, is one of the tallest trees of the Amazon rain forests, attaining 70 m. There are 4 species, occurring in tropical America.
