Alternanthera
Alternanthera (family Amaranthaceae) A genus of about 80 species of
herbs and shrubs whose single
ovule and
bilocular stamens distinguish them from other members of the large family. Some species are grown for their ornamental leaves. The genus is cosmopolitan, mainly subtropical.
