Tullahoma campaign

Tullahoma campaign a Civil War campaign for Union control of central Tennessee in mid–1863, under the leadership of Gen. William S. Rosecrans. Though often overlooked because of more dramatic contemporaneous events at Gettysburg and Vicksburg, it had important strategic consequences; the Confederate forces under Gen. Braxton Bragg were completely routed from Tennessee, and nearly 2,000 prisoners as well as artillery and siege guns were captured.
