Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty a security agreement signed in Manila on September 8, 1954 and enacted on February 19, 1955. It created the
Southeast Asia Treaty Organization, whose member states agreed to provide military assistance against an aggression or subversion in the treaty area.
