Seven Pines, Battle of

Seven Pines, Battle of an inconclusive Civil War battle in the Peninsular campaign from May 31 to June 1, 1862. Forces from both sides continuously fed reinforcements into the battle area, around the Chickahominy River, with the effect that casualties rose considerably on both sides, each of which claimed victory.
