Molino del Rey, Battle of one of the final battles of the Mexican War (1846–48), won by Gen. Winfield Scott's American forces on September 8, 1847. After a late-August armistice had not yet yielded peace terms, Scott attacked Molino del Rey, one of several fortifications on the outskirts of Mexico City. Both sides suffered heavy casualties in this and a simultaneous battle at Casa de Malta.
