Jenkins, Micah

Jenkins, Micah (1835–64) Confederate army officer, born on Edisto Island, South Carolina. Jenkins saw action in several major battles of the Civil War, from First Bull Run (1861), through the Seven Days' campaign (1862), Second Bull Run (1862), Fredericksburg (1862), Chickamauga (1863), and on up to the Battle of the Wilderness, during which he was struck by friendly fire and died a few hours later.
