Ia Drang Valley, Battle of the

Ia Drang Valley, Battle of the (November 14–16, 1965) a significant battle of the Vietnam War, it marked strategic changes on the part of both North Vietnam and the United States. For the NVA, it signaled the shift from Vietcong guerrilla tactics toward the use of conventional military forces, while for the United States it marked the beginning of direct massive involvement in ground combat opertations and a test of helicopter air mobility tactics.
