Flying Circus

Flying Circus a mobile group of German aerial aces who fought in tightly disciplined formations to gain air superiority over the World War I battlefields. Although usually associated in the popular mind with Baron Manfred von Richthofen (”The Red Baron”), the first flying circus was actually led by the German ace Oswald Boelcke in 1916.
