CINCPOA

CINCPOA ˈsiŋkˌpōə abbr.Commander in Chief, Pacific Ocean Area. Title of the commander in chief of the World War II-era U.S. theater command in the Central Pacific, a position held by U.S. Navy Admiral Chester W. Nimitz from 1942 to 1945. As CINCPOA Admiral Nimitz conducted naval, air, and amphibious operations in the Central Pacific area including the Aleutian, Gilbert, Marshall, and Mariana islands; the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf; Iwo Jima; and Okinawa.
