Braddock's Expedition also Braddcock's Defeat the ambush and defeat of the army of Edward Braddock near Fort Duquesne in the French and Indian War (1754–63) in 1755. The combined French and Native American attackers, though numbering just over 800, quickly overcame the surprised army of 1400. Braddock and all other officers present were killed in the battle or its aftermath, except for George Washington.
