Ballistic Missile Defense Organization

Ballistic Missile Defense Organization a Department of Defense organization in charge of the Ballistic Missile Defense Program and established to implement the missile defense program set forth in the Bottom-Up Review. It traces its history back to the Strategic Defense Initiative program begun in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan. It received its current name on May 13, 1993.
