U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command activity, at Fort Benning, Georgia, the focal point for U.S. Army infantry training and the development of infantry organization, equipment, and doctrine. The installation, which occupies some 184,000 acres and employs some 25,000 military and 6,100 civilian personnel.
