1. Describing a cell, especially a neuron, or a cell receptor that is stimulated by adrenaline, noradrenaline, or related substances. See also adrenoceptor.

2. Describing a nerve fibre or neuron that releases adrenaline or noradrenaline when stimulated. Compare cholinergic.
